The person asking why you didn't like Harry Potter was perhaps referring to the one star ratings you gave it on goodreads. I'm personally not such a fan of the Harry Potter series myself, but I'm still curious; why did you give them a one star rating?
I suppose I might have low-balled Harry Potter a bit with that Goodreads rating… In acknowledgement of this, I went back and boosted the rating to two stars. This in my opinion is a decent rating to bestow on a children’s series starring a young wizard who is fated to save the world from an older, evil wizard, over the course of 7 enormous volumes. I mean, I gave Susan Sontag’s In America two stars. Annie Proulx’s Shipping News got two stars. I’m no book critic; these ratings are my unqualified opinion and nothing more. But that’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it. :)
PS, I’m glad to know that people are following me on Goodreads.
